Back in cyberspace

cubiclexpressionslogo.gifWell, I am now back after a year of doing the brick-n-mortar thing. It is too long of a story to tell here but I bought an antique shop in February 2007, opened in March 2007, hoped to go full-time with it by mid-summer but that didn’t happen. Thus, I am back in a cubicle part-time these days and doing the shop on the weekends. My part-time cubicle gig is closer to home though so I no longer have the *interesting* commuter tales to share with all of you. However, I still see plenty of crazy things along the way to work and I will start sharing those again.

I contemplated bringing my camera with me every day and taking one picture each day on my way to work – just to track a year (or some amount of time) in photos of my commute. A neat concept that I might actually do… hhhmmmm… now that I am putting it down on *paper*, I think it’s a fabulous idea that I might just have to start on January 1st and track all of 2008.

So, here I am in my cute lil’ shop the weekend before Christmas. It’s a bit chilly but the furnace is working away keeping the bite at bay. I love to be at my shop more than at my part-time cubicle; however, until the shop gets up and running on its own, this is the reality of my life.

I have only been at my new cubicle for 4 months and I still don’t feel at home there. I haven’t brought one picture or personal item in to make it *mine.* I think I am secretly hoping it won’t be long-term and to make it homey would be admitting defeat. Hope dies last and hoping we are! So, back to cyberspace I came taking advantage of all the opportunities literally at my fingertips.

Actually, the cubicle gig isn’t too bad – I am learning a boatload of new skills and I get to play in Photoshop now! That can only help with all of my internet endeavors. So, I’ll make the best of it and learn so I’ll be ready for the next thing.

Wishing one and all the best of Christmases and the Happiest of New Years!
